Rockstar Unveils GTA 6’s Broader Setting Beyond Vice City

Rockstar Games has announced that the much-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature a setting that significantly expands beyond the iconic Vice City, introducing the vast, fictional state of Leonida—an expansive representation of Florida within the GTA universe. This expansion is a continuation of the series’ trend of broadening its geographic focus, similar to how Grand Theft Auto 4 highlighted Liberty City and Grand Theft Auto 5 covered San Andreas.

The recent debut trailer for GTA 6 not only reaffirmed Vice City as a key location but also showcased several new elements, including playable characters, enhanced graphics, alligators, a variety of vehicles, and an updated portrayal of Vice City. However, it’s important for fans to recognize that Vice City represents just one part of the extensive map of Leonida.

Rockstar’s official description offers a tantalizing preview: “Grand Theft Auto 6 invites players to explore the state of Leonida, which includes the neon-soaked Vice City and extends beyond, marking the most immersive and expansive iteration of the series yet.” The full scope of Leonida remains largely undisclosed, promising more revelations as the game’s 2025 release date draws nearer.

The closing moments of the reveal trailer finally set the anticipated release schedule for GTA 6. Despite earlier hopes for a 2024 launch, the game is now officially slated for release in 2025. It remains to be seen whether Rockstar will stick to this timeline or encounter delays.

Furthermore, the trailer’s confirmation of Leonida as the setting also indicated that the initial release would be limited to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with a PC launch likely to follow later—a typical pattern for Rockstar games. The exact timing for the GTA 6 PC port remains uncertain, but based on previous Rockstar releases, it could be at least a year after the console debut.

I think some kind of burglar mission is returning, It is fun doing part time legal work I will say at times you just want to relax a bit and not do any action packed shootouts.

Though the most important aspect I think is unlockable, unlocking things from doing stuff is better than getting into a menu and unlocking it cause you levelled up and got a point, at least in these types of games.

Even just a special outfit that represents these jobs would be nice… burglar you get like a classic, black pants with the black and white striped jumper with hat and mask, or Pimping gets you a pimp outfit or a pimp cane.

Or maybe they can also give you a bonus for your character which is great, probably not complete fire resistance but better and you don’t ragdoll when burning enough.
